In times like these, it’s tempting to turn towards government, angrily demanding, “Where’s MY bailout!” Yet the sad reality is, most Americans will not see any benefit whatsoever from the ginormous spending bills that threaten to put our financial system on the brink of insolvency.

So what’s a business owner to do?

It’s time to stop fretting, biting nails, and looking around nervously for “what will happen.” It’s time to bring back the attitude that got you to where you are today: “what will I MAKE happen?” It’s time, my friends, to stimulate your own economy.

This phrase has 2 meanings.

#1) It’s time to revive a little frugalness. I’m not one that advocates giving up all the joys in life due to market fluctuations, but I’m sure you will agree with me that the current market is more than just a small dip. So, in the plainest sense, it’s time to tighten the belts—a little. Where it makes sense. It is most definitely NOT time to panic and bury our heads in the proverbial sand.

That’s because we are also going to stimulate our economy in the second, and more powerful sense:

#2) It’s time to revive the pioneering, domineering, take-no-prisoners attitude you had when you first started business.

Remember back in the day, when they told you “no” and you said, “Yes!”? Remember, when a problem was a challenge you mastered with bravado? Well, it’s THAT spirit I’m calling out to again!

Think you lost it somewhere between middle age and New York?

Think again. Our greatest strengths as a nation come not from the government, but from the unbreakable spirits we are. It’s time to “dig deep” again. It’s time to look within. It’s time to remember who we are.

We are, unstoppable.
